Wai Chiong leads the Integrated Health Promotion (InHealth) programme of MOH Office for Health Transformation, which aims to implement integrated and coordinated initiatives concurrently in test precincts, to co-create with the community an environment and community norm which would make health-promoting behaviours the default. He also helps to develop initiatives to promote mental wellness at population level.

Prior to joining MOHT, Wai Chiong was Partner and Healthcare Sector leader for Deloitte Southeast Asia and advised governments, investors, life sciences companies, providers and payers globally.

Wai Chiong graduated with a medical degree from National University of Singapore, holds a Masters in Family Medicine (NUS), Fellowships with the Academy of Medicine Singapore and the College of Family Physicians, and Double MBA from the University of California (Los Angeles) and the National University of Singapore.
